Yusurum / Abyssinia Square

The name “Yousouroum” comes from the Jewish merchant Yousouroum, who opened a shop in the area. Gradually, the word became synonymous with the open-air bazaar in Abyssinia Square, which became famous for its old objects and antiques.

👉 Additional information: Today, the term “yousouroum” is more widely used to describe any outdoor flea market in Greece.
